My happy place...

Good morning!

This post is gonna be short and sweet because I am running behind and have to fly out the door before too long! I made this for the current MFT sketch challenge and sure it's kind of a loose interpretation but I think you can still see the bones of the sketch there. What I'm very excited about is this Every Day is a Picnic set... it's been retired for some time and I was beginning to lose hope of ever getting my hands on it. Then I stumbled upon an MFT buy and sell group on Facebook and I was able to get it with my very first 'in search of' post... talk about a happy girl! Isn't she adorable? And I also used plenty of the little scene builder stamps from the set as well, like those teeny, tiny ants!  :)

Alrighty friends, I'm outta here... take it easy!

Quite as sweet as you...

TGIF!

It's berry picking time around here and I love the idea of little berry fairies fluttering around, helping with the harvest. So when I saw Berry Fairy Amai in the MDP shop she flew right into my cart. Once I had her all colored up I really wanted it to look like she was hiding in the bramble bushes. At first I thought I would have to try my hand at drawing in some berries myself but then I remembered this older stamp set from W Plus 9 in my collection called Fresh Picked. It was SO much easier just stamping all those berries and leaves in around Amai, LOL! I think I'm going to go ahead and enter this into the July Mo's Little Challenge over on Facebook.   :)

Ok, I'm off to work... see ya on Monday!
Supply list:
cardstock- Bazzill and Copic X-Press It

You're a lifesaver...

Mornin' friends!

Have you seen the new Littles that were just introduced during the last Stamping Bella release? Talk about cutie patooties! I couldn't resist adding a few to my Stamping Bella collection and this darling girl from the Snorkel set was the first to get herself on a card. I wanted her to look like she was floating in the water so I stamped the duck floaty first then masked it off along with the space below it so that this Little's feet disappeared beneath the surface once she was stamped on. Next I grabbed the sun from the Sandcastle set and the waves from the Tiny Townie Frances Loves to Float set to bring this simple scene together. The sentiment is from the Ellen Hutson Stay Salty set and I inked it in a slightly darker shade than the water so that it was very tone on tone and subtle looking. I think it's a happy little card and I can't wait to get more of these Littles stamped up soon!  :)

Later gators!

All sorts of wonderful...

Hello, hello!

This pretty gal from LDRS Creative was looking very summer-ish to me so it seemed a good time to ink her up. She's called Flower's For You and I love how flowy and breezy she looks in her easy summer dress. I paired her up with this pretty paper from the Pink Paislee Summer Lights 6x6 pad and a lacey looking die from Papertrey Ink because they both had the pretty, girlie vibe that suited this beauty. What can I say? Sometimes you are just in a mood to go super feminine and I make no apologies for that, LOL!  ;)

Thanks for stopping by my friends!

Take it easy...

Hi there!

It's Tuesday and that means it's time for my weekly 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store card creation. My last box of happy mail included the new Lumberjack Guys stamp set from CC Designs along with the Cabin Fever paper pack. I knew the two would be a match made in outdoorsy heaven and couldn't wait to use them on a card together. Simple Stories is one of my favorite paper companies because I love all the sheets they have that are divided into multiple little scenes and sayings. Once you cut them apart they are perfect for cards and that is just what I did to get this mountain background. The 'trail head' sign and sentiment are both stickers from the sticker sheet that was included in the pack as well. All that was left to do was pick a lumberjack to live in this high mountain scene and I finally landed on this cutie because I liked that he was sitting on a stump which added a bit more interest. He really pulls the whole thing together with his easy, laid back attitude, don'tcha think?

Alrighty, well the July Challenge is in full swing over on the 7 Kids blog and with all the fabulous new stamps and supplies that Kelly has been bringing into the store that $20 gift certificate that is up for grabs could really help to fill a shopping cart! So get crafty and join the fun!

Enjoy the little things...

Good morning!

This little Bean from the Bloom Kit is called Jolene and from the get go I thought she had a very tropical vibe about her. So I had set her aside until the right time came along and now here we are. I paired Jolene up with the Fun in the Sun papers from Doodlebug because that floral print was too perfect of a match not to. No surprise that I colored her up to match and I think she looks like the sweetest little island cutie now. The sentiment also comes from the same 6x6 paper pad and I thought it would be fun to turn it into a shaker so that I could enter this card into the current Farm Fresh Challenge

Ok then, time for me to get ready for the day. Later gators!

Sunshine in my day...

TGIF!

Here she is, little miss Summer from the 4 Seasons Girls set by Roberto's Rascals. I have now officially gotten all eight of these cuties onto cards and I am quite proud of myself. Summer is a sassy looking little gal don'tcha think? I found this bicycle scene in the Sunkissed 6x6 paper pad and I liked the idea that she was out enjoying a leisurely ride to the local farmer's market and got herself a fresh bouquet of flowers. I love days like that, with no where you have to be and nothing you have to be doing... I just wish I had more of them!

Alrighty friends, have fun and stay cool this weekend!  :)

You're cool...

Olo!

Over the past year I have been creating cards in each season with the corresponding kids from the Roberto's Rascals 4 Seasons sets. Winter, spring and fall have all been featured here and today I'm wrapping things up with Summer. I've also been pairing them all up with Doodlebug papers so first things first, I had to find the bright and happy Sunkissed paper pad that came out last summer and color this cool little dude to match. He's so confident and carefree looking so I had to use the paper with the little ice cream truck to give him a perfect summer treat. Talk about an instant scene and he fits right into it... love when that happens! I've so enjoyed each and every one of these cute boys and it feels great to have the complete set of semi-coordinating cards. :)

Alrighty, see you back here tomorrow with his summer girl counterpart.

Campy Birthday to You...

Hey there!

It's the second Wednesday of the new month and that means it's time for the July 'anything goes' challenge over on the 7 Kids challenge blog. Playing along is easy, all you have to do is use at least one product that can be found in the 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store and link back to the challenge blog in your own post, which gives you a chance at winning a $20 gift certificate at the end of the month... who doesn't love that?
For my challenge inspiration card I pulled stamp sets from two different companies and had fun mixing things up to create a cozy camp fire scene. First off I grabbed this outdoorsy looking guy from the TGF Mini Remix Boys set and then used a bunch of the awesome camping accessory stamps from the new Sugar Pea Designs Easily A-Moose'd set to add to the camping vibe of the card. Next I used the cool tree scape border dies to create the background along with some starry sky paper that I found in my stash. Because I wanted to keep the scene rather contained I decided to grab the stitched circle from the Making Waves die set for a very clean and simple design that is still full of charm and whimsy.
I am also entering this card into the Mix It Up Challenge #33 over on the Sugar Pea Designs blog. SPDMIU33

Alrighty, I hope to see some of my crafty friends joining the fun with me this month over at 7 Kids!   :)

Across the miles...

Hi there!

It's Tuesday and you know what that means... time for my weekly 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store card creation. For today's card it was time I played with the new Mega Mini Go Time set from The Greeting Farm. I couldn't wait to get my hands on these cute stamps and create some dynamic scenes with them. The sweet convertible was calling to me and I thought that this curly haired cutie was a natural to be cruising down the road in it. Of course she would have a pretty pink ride because this girl likes to stand out in a crowd. That perfect scene in the background? The new Cartopia paper pack has all sorts of fun prints in it that will go great with this stamp set. I'll admit it... I bought it just for these stamps, LOL! ;)

Alrighty, well the June challenge just wrapped up but be sure to check out the 7 Kids blog tomorrow when July's challenge kicks off! With all the new goodies Kelly has been bringing into the store that $20 gift certificate that is up for grabs could really help to fill a shopping cart!

Bubble over...

Hello, hello!

When the temperatures soar into the triple digits how can you resist an ice cold cola? Drinks All Around Piper certainly thinks that they are a good idea and she's got some to share. I knew that I had the perfect papers to go with her but I had to dig around a bit in my crafty room as I am currently in the process of moving it and things are in shambles. Finally I found last year's Simple Stories Summer Vibes collection with the pop cap print paper and I was ready to create. I colored Piper to match those beautiful muted colors but couldn't help but stick with the brighter Coca Cola red for those bottles and the enamel dots. This card definitely says summer to me and I'm entering it into this month's 'anything goes' challenge over on the SOG blog

Thanks for dropping by!

Planted in my heart...

TGIF!

I'm a big fan of the Tiny Townie Garden Girls and I have been hanging on to Poppy here ever since I got her because I knew that I wanted to color her up as my most favorite flower ever... the California Poppy. And there's no better time for California Poppies than summer time. It always cheers me up to see masses of these beautiful orange blooms dancing happily in the breeze so I tried to capture that just a bit in the scene I created for Poppy. I challenged myself to do her in no-line and I gotta say that it was kinda nerve wracking! I struggled with all those petals and keeping them looking separate from each other but am pretty happy with them in the end. And I'm going ahead and entering this card into the "free form" Bellarific Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Sprinkles on my ice cream...

Hey there!

So I found myself with a bit more crafty time yesterday... just enough to color up this darling girl from the CC Designs Ice Scream set. Not just that, but I also had time to pull some pretty papers before coloring so that I could match my Copics to it. It felt good to be back in my comfort zone after many busy days of coloring images without a set plan. The cute ice cream paper was a no brainer but I was just as excited to find this white wood board looking print in the same Summer Dreams 6x6 pad. Doesn't it look like house siding when placed behind her and the grass at her feet? Love that! Scene building doesn't get much easier or quicker than that, LOL! Mmmmm... just looking at her has me craving some bubblegum ice cream. A stop at the local drive-thru may have to happen this afternoon, especially if temps hit 100 today like they are forecasting... yikes!

Stay cool my friends!  :)

Fresh picked birthday wishes...

Hello, hello!

Ok, so between work and 4th of July celebrations I had zero time to get creative yesterday. The only thing I had already colored up and ready to go was the Papertrey Ink cupcake for July. I guess that means I'll be sharing two cupcake cards in a single week. This time around I played with coloring on kraft and adding a bit of white color pencil to the frosting for some extra shine. It's a simple and sweet card design that came together super quick.

Hopefully I'll have more time to chat with y'all tomorrow.  :)

Sparkle...

Hi there!

It's a special Tuesday what with the Fourth of July celebration in full swing. But I've still got my 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store card creation to share. I knew that I wanted to build a festive Fourth scene using a couple different sets from The Greeting Farm so I grabbed the Main Street set and a couple of the kiddos from the new Mega Mini Go Time set and got busy masking. Once the scene was all colored in I gave each of them a sparkler by drawing a simple line in their hands with a black pen then used my white pen to add the 'sparkle'... such an easy alteration to help customize them to the theme of my card. So to all my friends celebrating today, have a fun and fabulous Fourth!  :)

Oh and you still have some time to enter this month's challenge over on the 7 Kids blog. Kelly has an awesome $20 gift certificate up for grabs and you could be the lucky winner so get to creating and join the fun!

Happy Birthday...

Good morning!

So because I was a bit preoccupied with mermaids last month, I didn't get a chance to post my card using the June cupcake from the PTI Baker's Dozen set. I've had this cupcake colored up since last September and when I pulled it out to create a card with it, it was just looking kinda lonely. I hemmed and hawed over what to add to the scene until my sister suggested that I add a kitty. Being the cat lover that I am, how could I resist? This fluffy kitty from the SOG Hipster Pets set looked like she belonged with a pretty pink and navy cupcake. Because the cupcake was done in no-line this kitty had to be too which really helped give her the super soft Ragdoll look I was going for. Sure she may look all sweet and innocent but leave her alone with that cupcake too long and I'm sure she will be licking that creamy frosting, LOL! ;)

Later my friends!

Stay salty, my friend...

TGIF my friends!

Here we are at the last day of June and it's my final post for the 2017 month of mermaids. Which under the sea beauty had the honor of wrapping this all up... wait... what?! That's no mermaid you say... that's a merMAN! LOL, yep MerMan Kody from Some Odd Girl is seeing us off as we sail onto other themes for the rest of the summer. Once I got done coloring this hunky swimmer he ended up having a rather Stallone-ish look about him, don'tcha think? And that sentiment was too perfect not to pair up with this salty merman. ;)

Ok then, thanks for swimming the salty seas with me this past month. I hope you had just as much fun as I did. Toodles!

An ocean of love...

Hello, hello!

I've colored up one more gorgeous mermaid from A Day For Daisies to help wrap up this month of mermaids. She's called Ocean's Beauty and I just adore her vintage look. There's something about her hair and those big ol' ribbons that bring to mind old photos of girls from the 1890's. That association is probably a big reason why she ended up in the soft, monochromatic sea green combo that I went with. It suits her quiet beauty and peaceful looking nature. The distressed paper from Basic Grey totally inspired my coloring of her tail and I love how it turned out. I even used the same Copics to color the coordinating ribbon that I added to the bottom of the card. Talk about a totally different look from yesterday's card but that is why mermaids are so much fun, bright and bold or soft and subtle, they always look amazing.  :)

Talk at'cha later!

Follow your heart...

Olo!

Today's quirky mermaid is another digi from Dilly Beans Stamps. Her name is Nina Mermaid and she was another one that has been on my digi wish list forever. Again those round little goldfish bodies totally make me smile. I kept Nina at a pretty normal size for an A2 card so that I could easily add the school of fish tailing along behind her. Once again I was inspired by the artist's way of coloring her creations and made that dramatic swoosh down to her nose. She is such a pretty little mer, love her!

Ok, I've really got to get going with my day. Have a good one everybody!

You are treasured...

Hi there!

It's Tuesday and you know what that means... time for my weekly 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store card creation. For today's mermaid I grabbed the second Kraftin' Kimmie mermaid that was released this year, Florence Finbottom. I really can't get enough of these big eyed beauties and the fun scenes that they find themselves in. Florence has just come across some sunken treasure and I've got to wonder what she will do with all that gold? She seems pretty excited about it... perhaps she has her eye on a fancy new top at the local coral clothier. For the rest of the card I used a wave border die cut at the top of the colored panel then added this bright seaweed print from the Under the Sea paper pad peeking out at the top. And since I added a sprinkling of circular bubbles to the card I am going to enter this into the current "circles" challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.  :)

Alrighty, well the June Challenge is in full swing over on the 7 Kids blog and with all the new goodies Kelly has been bringing into the store that $20 gift certificate that is up for grabs could really help to fill a shopping cart! So get crafty and join the fun!

Sea you soon...

Good morning!

I can't believe this is the last week of my month of mermaids for June. When I realized I only had five more mermaid themed cards to make it got really hard narrowing down who those last five would be. As I was going through things on my desk I found the Party Like a Pirate set from MFT and immediately remembered an idea I had for combining it with the Mermazing set. So I took a look at this week's sketch challenge and it all came together to really make the decision for me. I masked the mermaid off at the waist to give her the appearance of emerging from the water and I also turned the stamp so just the tip of her tail was poking out of the water too. Next I grabbed the pretty little pirate princess with her spyglass and added some palm trees behind her from the retired Tiki Party set. I colored in the sandy beach and ocean then masked everything off and stenciled in the sunshine in the background. I really couldn't be happier with how this card turned out. :)

See ya back here tomorrow for more mermazing fun!
