Fur-ever friends...

It's August 1st and that means today is all about a brand new Farm Fresh Challenge at The Greeting Farm! As you know, a new challenge is issued at the beginning of every month over on the TGF blog and this time around it is...  'Friendship'. Friendship day is August 7th so this is the perfect time to create some cards for those special people that we are lucky enough to invite into our lives. True friend...

It's Friday and this week I made time to get a card done for the Stamping Bella Bellarific challenge. When I saw that it was "One Layer Wonders" I was excited to give it a go. It's the perfect opportunity to create a scene with just a couple stamps and your Copics. I chose to ink up Tiny Townies Fairy Best Friends because they are just way too cute. I ended up kinda going with a black and white look on their outfits with pops of bright color. Then I gave them a big meadow to frolic in with a bunch of butterflies flitting through the clear blue sky. And that's all it took to make this one layer card.  :)

Alrighty, bring on the weekend! The temps are soaring and I need to relax and unwind.  ;)

Let's Shell-ebrate...

Hey there!

Well look who I forgot to post here on the ol' blog when she was released a few weeks back. Trishell had to give me a ring on her shellphone and let me know that she was tired of waiting for her chance to be in the spotlight so I promised her that today was her day. I simply adore these new TGF mermaids with their long, flowing hair and ruffled fins, they are total girly girls. I used the Doodle Waves stamp set from PTI to create Trishell's background that is subtle but still kinda fun and funky. Then I went crazy with the Liquid Pearls adding 'sea foam' bubbles to those rolling waves. Keeping everything light and monochromatic in the background really allows Trishell to be the star of the show... just how she likes it!  ;)

Later gators!

It's a beautiful day...

I'm heading back to the tropics today, this time it's with this cutie Anya from the Aloha set. I colored her up a few weeks ago to be my summer avatar over on Facebook and once I had that done she just had to make it on a card. And with this fab paper from the You Are Here Simple Stories collection it really made the whole process super quick and easy, the beach scene was already done for me. Now Anya is strolling across the sandy beach, sipping her coconut drink while the sun sets on another beautiful day... just like the sentiment says. ;)

Ok, friends, I've got to run!

Ham it up...

Hello, hello!

My collection of darling Birdie Brown stamps from MFT has grown over the last few months and yet I haven't managed to get any of these little characters onto a card in that time. Mores the pity because they really hit the trifecta of cute, quick and fun to create with. So now I'm making a point to ink them up and get some cards made with this stash of stamps. First to get inked up was the Hog Heaven set and this dancing pig totally makes me giggle. Because he is such a party animal I really wanted it to look like he is shaking his groove thang so I borrowed the little hash tag stamps from the Sugar Pea Designs Hot Diggity Dog set to make it look like his back side is in motion. Other than the sequins this is a one layer card but what it lacks in design I think it makes up for with it's cheery cheekiness. ;)

Ok folks, time for me to scoot. Talk at'cha later!
Supply list:
cardstock- Papertrey Ink vintage cream

Hey girl...

Good morning!

Things have been heating up in my neck of the woods so a lot of free time has been spent chillaxin' in the water just trying to keep cool. Makes me wish for a tropical oasis to escape to but since I don't see that happening any time soon I guess I'll just have to live vicariously through my stamps, LOL! Tropical Piper from Some Odd Girl fit my mood perfectly so I printed her out and got down to coloring this island beauty. I also had fun getting creative with a watercolor background using an old Heidi Swapp mask that I've had in my stash for years. The flowers were too perfect a match not to use with Piper and it was a great challenge to match the Copics I used to the Distress inks in the background. I'm so pleased with how this card came together that I'm going to enter it into the current SOG Facebook challenge, "Anything Odd Goes".

Have a good one everybody!  :)

Happy Ho-Ho-Holidays...

It's Friday and the day is finally here...RELEASE DAY for all 4 of the new JULY Stamp Sets and Coordinating Dies: Dashing, Let's Mingle, Ho Ho Holiday, and Pop-Out Xmas!! We have been previewing these adorable sets over the last few days, and NOW they are available in The Greeting Farm Store. To celebrate, we are having a BLOG HOP!! Since we have 4 sets this month, we are going to pick 2 lucky winners (each will receive two stamp sets).
Be sure to leave a comment on each designer’s blog, and then head back to The Greeting Farm Blog to let us know you completed the hop. You have until Sunday, July 24th at 12pm CST to leave your comments. We will announce the two random winners later in the week!

TGF Design Team:

For my card today I've inked up the sweet Santa from the Ho Ho Holiday set and a whole heap of gifts from three of the four sets. I contained most of the design inside the wonky stitched window die because I think it adds whimsy and a sense of playfulness to this clean and simple card.

A sparkling season...

Hey there!

Well, we've made it to the fourth and final day of previews for the TGF July release and we've saved a super fun, interactive set for last. The stamp set is called Pop Out Xmas and the pop out refers to the way you can mix and match these stamps to add the Santa, Reindeer or Snowman to a variety of gift boxes or even stockings. For my card I chose to ink up Santa and a couple reindeer and pop each one into their own stocking. Once I had them in there they kind of reminded me of tree ornaments so I totally ran with the idea. I knew I had a Memory Box die that looks like ornament hangers so I cut some out of gold paper and added them to my stamped images. Then I just created a background that looks like the inside of a Christmas tree by rubbing spots of colored inks on with a cotton ball and then stamping pine branches right over them.
The TGF blog is totally poppin' with inspiration from my fellow Farmers today so be sure to check that out. And come back tomorrow for a blog hop and chances to win the new release!

Have your-elf...

Here we are at day three of the Greeting Farm July release and I have to admit that this set is my favorite of the bunch. It's called Ho Ho Holiday and there are three darling elves, a super cute Santa, great sentiments and fun extras all included in this set. For today's card I chose to ink up all three of the elves to create a merry scene of them preparing to decorate Santa's workshop. I did borrow a string of lights stamp from an old Karen Foster set to get this look but the lights could have just as easily been drawn in free hand. Once I had the image colored I grabbed small cotton balls and dabbed coordinating ink colors around each bulb to make them look like they are glowing.
Now you'll want to Ho Ho Hop on over to the TGF blog to see the fab cards my fellow Farmers have made with this happy holiday stamp set.  :)

We wish you a Merry Christmas...

Hello again!

Welcome back to day two of the TGF July release where we are previewing four new clear Christmas stamp sets. Today Let's Mingle is in the spotlight and this set includes a whole slew of festive mice along with some cookies, gifts and sentiments. I couldn't resist stamping up a whole plateful of cookies for these two merry mischief makers to raid. Then I realized that a cup of milk needed to be left for Santa too so I grabbed the I Love Mom set, wiped away the wording on the cup and replaced it with this holly motif from another upcoming Christmas set. I wanted to use this big speech bubble border die so I actually chose a larger sentiment from the oldie but goodie Holiday Blessings set and I think it works pretty great with these excited and eager Christmas critters.
Now scurry on over to the TGF blog to see all the Christmas magic my fellow Farmers have been creating!

Simple and quick to color yet so full of character and charm.

Sunny smiles...

TGIF my friends!

Last Friday I had the July Super Secret Stamp Club stamp show up in my mailbox and she is an adorable new Anya called Styling. I love everything about her but while she really is very stylin' her outfit was a bit too formal for the summer themed cards that I'm currently making. So I decided to do a head swap and give Styling a warm weather makeover. Dress Me Anya's body and clothes from the Summer Wardrobe set were just what I needed. I even took it a step farther and gave her some cool shades and an ice cream cone to help beat the heat. The paper is from the new Great Outdoors collection and I chose to use the strip that looks like Anya is traveling down the coast to sunny California. Free and easy down the road she goes, LOL!

Alrighty then, stay cool this weekend!  :)

Light up my heart...

Hi-ya! It is my turn to post over on the TGF blog today and I am sharing another card that I made using the Little Fairies set, which is currently back in stock for anyone who missed out the first go round.
With the exception of the sentiment, all I needed to create this magical scene was a variety of stamps from the Little Fairies set. The idea started with that cute acorn lantern that is included. I knew that I wanted this sweet fairy with her raised arms to be holding it, so I stamped the lantern first, masked it off, then stamped the fairy. Next I masked off the fairy and stamped the largest mushroom so that she would be perching atop it. Mask that mushroom, add a couple smaller ones to the scene, mask them off and then use a large cotton ball to rub on four different ink colors to create the dusky, night sky and ground. Once the inked background was done, I peeled off the masks and got down to coloring. By choosing high contrast color combos for the hair, dress and shrooms, plus the addition of some Y00 in the lightest areas, it really looks like her acorn lantern is glowing. With all the time and energy put into creating the scene, keeping the rest of the card design clean and simple seemed to be the best way to let it shine.  :)

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

Believe in magic...

How about a rainbow of happiness for today's card? I couldn't stop myself from grabbing a handful of ink pads and creating a burst of color behind this wee fairy from the Little Fairies set. I figured with the dandelion wand in hand, she could fly hither and thither spreading joy and color to an otherwise dull day. I achieved the effect using the Confetti Toss stamp set from Papertrey Ink and stamping it repeatedly around a central point on the card front. Then when it came time to color up the fairy I decided to keep her kinda black and white with vibrant rainbow wings. Clean and simple with just a touch of whimsy, and it totally makes me smile.  :)

A little shellfish...

Hey there!

Good news, it looks like the Little Fairies and Little Mermaids sets are both back in stock over at the TGF store. That makes it so much more fun to post this card that I made for their release. It's another mash up of Lawn Fawn and the Little Mermaids set, this time I paired the cute mermaid, fish and seaweed with the sweet oyster and coordinating sentiment from the Shellfish set. I added a little pearl to the oyster and it looks like that mermaid is swimming over to grab her precious gift. :)

Ok, time for me to scoot. Have a good one!

Shore are sweet...

Good morning!

I couldn't help but do another take on the waterfall background, this time with the lovely Merisa from the recent TGF release. The way she is primping and playing with her hair I could just imagine her sitting in a hidden lagoon with the water and tropical plants hiding her from the world. So when she finally decides to make an appearance she has to look her best. I really love these new mermaids and it looks like I'm not the only one because they are all currently sold out! Hopefully they will be restocked very soon because the summer is still young and mermaid season is still at its height. ;)

A fin-tastic day...

I was lucky enough to win a challenge over on the Markers! Papers! Digis! Facebook group a couple weeks ago and my prize was this darling mermaid from Fun Stampers Journey. This company is completely new to me so I have to thank Keri, who hosted the challenge, for introducing me to their images. I love this little gal's pose and how her big eyes look down. It gave me the perfect place to add a few friends to be swimming along side her. I created the watery background by following this tutorial that I found on the Kraftin' Kimmie blog. It made for a nice change, trying something different and it is giving me all sorts of ideas for future cards. :)

Ok, time for me to get ready for the day. Hope your weekend is a crafty one my friends!
